This is what I’ll be seeing when I close my eyes tonight.
We are hosting our annual Christmas in July tomorrow night (although I do realise it is already August...) and over the past two days I have made and baked over 6kg of gingerbread dough.
It has resulted in four houses and lots little angels, trees, reindeers, stars and snowflakes to sprinkle down the centre of the table.
I’m still not sure if gingerbread houses are worth allllllllll the labour and effort. But I’m learning more each time I make them.
Next time I’ll definitely pipe the icing on AFTER glueing them together (note to self: work on piping skills) and this year I didn’t get any third degree burns from the 160c caramel that I use to glue them together! However, given I only have the energy to make them twice a year, I’ll be 90 by the time I get them looking Insta-perfect.
If I’m feeling brave I’ll share a pic of my little gingerbread village tomorrow.
